Since 1999 Nissan has been part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance a partnership between Nissan of Japan with Mitsubishi also of Japan and the French automobile manufacturer Renault.
By 2007, it was producing 400,000 cars per year after a joint venture with Alfa Romeo then going it alone.
Nissan (Datsun) laned the title of the most productive car manufacturing plant in Europe.
